The sermon was delivered on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by James Croft, Guest Speaker.
What is the point of Humanism?
"To safeguard human dignity while maintaining intellectual integrity. To put people first."
Mr. Croft states that the point of Humanism is "To safeguard human dignity while maintaining intellectual integrity. To put people first."
I submit that there is scant human dignity without intellectual integrity. And because region is anti-intellectual, it undercuts human dignity. Further, to the extent UU is a "religious faith" it is anti-intellectual.
Mr. Croft also says the point of Humanism is "To put people first". Which raises the question as to what, specifically, he means by that? First over what?
